SHAH ALAM - The International Anti-Corruption Day (HARA) Rasuah Busters programme for the first time provides various exhibitions and special activities for two days to deliver anti-corruption messages and create awareness among the community, especially students and local business entities.

Its Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Sinar Untuk Malaysia (RasuahBusters) Nurhayati Nordin said the initiative which would start on Dec 13 to 14 would be held at the Karangkraf Group Complex and would involve exhibitions from the synergy partners of the Rasuah Busters coalition itself.

"We expect the public to participate because we want to raise a leadership with awareness of rejecting corruption, leadership among students and entrepreneurs of business entities in our country based on the organisation of HARA 2023 itself.

"We want to explain to the public that conveying the anti-corruption message can be something interesting with exhibitions such as doodles and we also inform the public how this anti-corruption movement can be started at various levels of the ecosystem," she told Sinar Daily.

Nurhayati said there were several activities provided during the programme including exhibitions and activities from various agencies, SME Integrity Talk, HARA 2023 Special Speech, Anti-Corruption Poetry Appreciation, Rasuah Busters Compass, Nation Building Talks (IKRAM), performances from kindergarten students.

"We also have partnerships from Prisons Department, for example, criminals who have been convicted of white-collar crimes will share their stories to reveal the reality of the consequences of the crime committed.

“So this is an opportunity for us to educate the public so that they can imagine and see for themselves," she said.

Commenting further, Norhayati said the HARA 2023 also highlighted three important elements covering basic, economic and social rights as components that would be challenged as a result of acts of corruption.

Exhibitions from Rasuah Busters synergy partners also involved the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Integrity Institute of Malaysia (IIM), SIRIM Berhad (SIRIM), Prison Deartments, Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) and the Chief Minister's Corporation (MBI).
