KAJANG - A total of six individuals suspected of selling fake sick leave certificates were arrested separately here on Friday and Saturday.

District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said the preliminary investigations revealed that the four women and two men were suspected of selling the sick leave certificates at a price of RM30 to RM50 each.

"All the suspects aged 26 to 51 are believed to have been active since a year ago and offered to sell sick leave certificates around Kajang," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Zaid said his team seized a laptop, eight mobile phones, five pendrive units, six sick leave certificate books, 171 government sick leave certificates, 70 private sick leave certificates and 19 official clinic receipts.

"All the suspects were remanded from Saturday to Monday, then extended remand until today (Wednesday) to assist the investigation according to Section 420 of the Penal Code.
