KLANG - The appointment of the top five positions in the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) for the 2023-2026 session was made through consensus without any voting.

Confirming this during his inaugural speech after being appointed as the party's new Deputy President, Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said this was evidence of the spirit of consultation displayed by the party.

"This decision is based on the concept of 'rahmah,' regardless of how many votes, representatives have expressed their desires, and we respect each vote given.

"However, this party (Amanah) learns from the experience of other parties; we have a certain level to ensure leadership is trained through consultation (syura)," he said at the convention here on Sunday.

However, Mujahid, who is also a former Parit Buntar MP, said the most crucial aspect of these appointments was the responsibility shouldered by the new leadership committee.

He added that the focus will be on the process of keeping Amanah in the political arena of the country and gaining respect from opponents.
