Puchong Prima shooting: “Feels like in a movie”

PUCHONG - It's like watching a scene in a movie, said a resident of Persiaran Prima Utama 3, Puchong Permai, when recounting the moment of a criminal being shot dead after a shootout with the police on Sunday.

The man in his 30s, who wanted to stay anonymous, said that in the incident at about 4pm, he witnessed several vehicles chasing a car believed to be driven by the suspect.

He said not long after, there was a shooting scene after the police managed to surround and detain the suspect's car.

"I am sure that the suspect fired first. Following that, the plainclothes police manage to control the situation well,” he said when met by Sinar here on Monday.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 60s who was also a resident of the area said at first she did not think there would be a shooting incident at the location.

She heard an explosion that she thought was firecrackers being set off by the youths in the area when she was outside the house.

"However, I saw several plain clothes policemen lying on the road while firing at the criminal's car.

"The shooting that happened yesterday was like a war, very scary," she explained recalling the incident.

In the incident on Sunday, Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said a suspect who was shot dead had 14 previous records including six drug cases and was wanted by the police.

Sinar Harian's survey at the scene of the incident on Monday found that there was still yellow tape at the scene of the incident.

It is understood that the surrounding area was cordoned off by the police for the investigation and forensic process.
