Local man arrested for sexual misconduct in Kota Damansara
Police seize clothing, motorcycle
PETALING JAYA - A man was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a woman in Kota Damansara on Monday.
Petaling Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid reported an investigation was initiated after a video of the incident went viral.
The video, posted at approximately 4.37pm on Jan 15 on X, depicted the suspect riding a motorcycle and masturbating while harassing the victim.
"The victim had not filed a report initially but later did so at around 6.20pm on Jan 16," Fakhruddin said in a statement today.
Following the victim's report, a local man was apprehended at Indah Apartment, Damansara Damai, on Jan 16.
"The 23-year-old suspect was arrested, and several items were seized, including a shirt, shorts, rubber shoes, a set of keys, and a motorcycle," he said.
The suspect has no prior criminal records, and a urine screening test indicated he was not under the influence of drugs.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code, Fakhruddin confirmed.
