‘Disappointed, very very disappointed’, Najib on failure for full pardon
The convicted former PM expresses his disappointment for the failure to receive full pardon over charges of CBT and abuse of power in relation to funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd.

SHAH ALAM - Convicted former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak expresses his disappointment for the failure to receive full pardon over charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) and abuse of power in relation to SRC International Sdn Bhd.
This was relayed by his daughter Nooryana Najwa who visited Najib in prison yesterday.
“You know Yana, the worst feeling is when you are in shock and there is no one around to speak to. You are lost in your thoughts all alone,” said Najib in a conversation with his daughter, popularly referred to as Yana.
Nooryana said Najib, who received the news about the partial pardon and that he would be incarcerated for about four to five more years, looked tired as if he did not get enough sleep as he waited for the Pardons Board’s decision.
She said Najib waited for the decision for five days with “so much hope while others around him supported him”.
She revealed that even the prison officers thought it would be the last day they would see him.
The former premier’s daughter also reiterated that Najib was not given a fair trial.
"He is being punished for giving money to charity. He is being punished for wanting more time to prove his innocence.
“He is being punished because his blood is Umno and will never surrender for his party. He is being punished just because he is Bossku, just because he is Najib Razak," she said in an Instagram post yesterday.
This comes as Umno had reportedly focused on efforts to obtain a full pardon for Najib.
On Friday, the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya during the 61st meeting on Jan 29 made the decision to reduce Najib's jail term by 50 per cent.
The Federal Territories Pardons Board, the Prime Minister’s Department’s Legal Affairs Division as the board’s secretariat agreed for Najib to be released on Aug 23, 2028.
His fine of RM210 million was reduced to RM50 million.
On July 28, 2020, the Kuala Lumpur High Court found him guilty of seven charges, three of which were for (CBT), three money laundering charges and a single count of abuse of power involving RM42 million funds belonging to SRC International.
