SHAH ALAM - American singer Taylor Swift creates a media frenzy for blanking on Celine Dion on stage but swiftly shuts it down with a backstage embrace.

The 34-year-old pop star received album of the year for her 2022 album 'Midnights' at the 2024 Grammys.

Soon after prominent singer Dion announced that Swift won, the latter excitedly made her way to the stage.

Dion, 55, handed her the award, but fans pointed out that Swift didn't acknowledge her and didn't make eye contact, quickly looking back to celebrate the moment with her collaborators instead.

However, there appeared to be no ill feelings as the iconic pair later posed up happily backstage, sharing a warm hug.

In the endearing snapshot, Swift draped her arm around Dion's shoulder, and they leaned in close, expressing their joy at connecting with big smiles.

The occasion held special significance for both musicians where Taylor created history by securing the gramophone for album of the year, becoming the sole artist to achieve this feat four times. (Midnights, Fearless, 1989, and Folklore have all clinched the award)

During her acceptance speech, Swift expressed her utmost gratitude for receiving such an award.

"I'd like to convey that this is the pinnacle moment of my life. However, I experience this level of joy when I complete a song, solve the puzzle of a beloved bridge, plan a music video, rehearse with my dancers and band, or prepare to perform in Tokyo."

Commenting further, the 14-time Grammy winner wished to persist in doing what she love.

"The award, to me, symbolises the effort. All I aspire to do is continue pursuing this passion.

"I love it immensely, and the fact that it brings happiness to those who voted for this award is incredibly overwhelming.

"My only wish is to persist in doing what I love. Thank you for granting me the opportunity to pursue my passion," she said.

Meanwhile, Dion making it to the Grammys marked her first public appearance in months amidst her ongoing health challenges.
