KUALA TERENGGANU - Kemaman MP Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar expressed his excitement on social media as he attended the first day of the current Dewan Rakyat session today.

This marked his first appearance in Parliament since winning the Kemaman by-election on December 2, 2023.

Sharing his feelings on his social media platforms, the Terengganu Menteri Besar wrote, "It's a little different feeling for the meeting this time.

"New people, God-willing, please pray for me."

On Sunday night, he also posted a message of encouragement to his fellow Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs, stating, "God willing, for the first time I will be together in the Parliament session tomorrow (Monday).

"Congratulations to my friends, may ALLAH SWT give me strength and power to present arguments."

Ahmad Samsuri, also known as Dr Sam secured a convincing victory in the Kemaman by-election.

He received 64,998 votes, compared to the 27,179 votes won by the incumbent, Che Alias Hamid, in the 15th General Election (GE15).

The result represented an increase of over 10,000 votes and maintains the status quo for Pas in the constituency.

His main competitor, General (R) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor from Barisan Nasional (BN), received 27,778 votes.
