KUANTAN - Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail says former Penang Deputy Chief Minister P Ramasamy is unfit to talk about betrayal.

He insisted that Ramasamy should remain silent rather than commenting on the issue involved because he claimed that the individual was also a traitor to his party before.

Wan Rosdy said Ramasamy not only announced his exit from DAP last year after his name was not listed as a candidate for the Penang state election, he also announced the establishment of a new party, Parti Bersepakat Hak Rakyat Malaysia (Urimai).

"I think the people can judge for themselves who P Ramasamy really is because the statement he issued is like spitting at the sky, falling on his own face.

"Enough with issuing statements that mislead the people simply to gain cheap popularity for their own benefit," he said in a statement.

Wan Rosdy said the former DAP leader should be aware that Umno’s cooperation with Pakatan Harapan, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and other parties is to create stability in the country as ordered by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong after the 15th General Election.

"Alhamdulillah, with the establishment of the unity government, we are trying to create a mature politics that celebrates every difference to ensure that the people continue to live in a harmonious and prosperous atmosphere," he said.

Ramasamy previously defended Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) which was described as a traitor by Umno.
