SHAH ALAM - The police is urged to conduct an investigation to identify the true motive for the attacks on its stations as well as the incident of political leaders receiving death threats.

Alliance for A Safe Community chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the investigation should also include the level of mental health of the individual or group that committed the crime.

He said such actions were necessary to enable the country's main security agencies to be better prepared to face any eventuality.

"These terrorist attacks need to be investigated up to the root and cannot be allowed to multiply in Malaysia. The motive for each of these attacks needs to be thoroughly studied to ensure that they do not happen again.

"This kind of attack needs to be eradicated as early as possible so that it does not become a trend in our country. This is because it will have a great impact on the safety of the people.

"Such investigation should also include the issue of a person's mental health. We want to know if this is an imitation of aggressive behaviour aimed at gaining attention.

"If so, this is something serious and an investigation should be made involving all parties, from crime experts and various government agencies," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

The country was previously shaken by the attack at the Ulu Tiram Police Station, Johor, resulting in the death of two policemen.
