SHAH ALAM - MGB Bhd marked a significant milestone with the roof topping ceremony of its Idaman Melur project in Cybersouth, Dengkil, completing the building structure phase a month ahead of schedule.

This marks a milestone achievement in its affordable housing project.

With the roof topping ceremony of its Idaman Melur project in Cybersouth, Dengkil, on May 24, the company signals the completion of the building structure phase, a full month ahead of schedule.

This feat not only highlights MGB Bhd's commitment to excellence but also highlights the application of innovative building technology in advancing affordable housing solutions.

The event, officiated by MGB Group Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Ir Dr Lim Hock San, emphasised the company's efficiency and commitment to delivering quality homes.

“The roof topping of a building symbolises the culmination of hard work and a bright future. It represents our unwavering commitment to excellence in everything we do. As we affix this final beam in place, let it serve as a testament to our dedication to quality craftsmanship.

“Let us not forget the communities that will benefit from this project, the families who will call it home and the neighbourhoods that will flourish around it,” he said at the ceremony.

The early completion of the building structure was achieved through the innovative use of MGB’s in-house industrialised building system (IBS) precast concrete technology.

This approach has not only enhanced efficiency but also reduced construction time by 33 per cent and manual labour by 31 per cent. MGB’s IBS factories have the capacity to produce precast concrete panels for up to 6000 residential units annually.

The Idaman Melur project is part of MGB's commitment to delivering affordable housing under the Rumah Selangorku Idaman MBI initiative. MGB aims to deliver a total of 7210 affordable homes in Selangor, supporting the state government's goal of constructing 30,000 affordable homes by 2025.

In addition to Idaman Melur, MGB is preparing to deliver vacant possession for Idaman BSP @ Bandar Saujana Putra in the third quarter of this year. Both projects are among six Rumah Selangorku Idaman MBI developments by MGB.

Lim also stressed MGB’s expanding footprint, both domestically and internationally, through its expertise in IBS precast concrete installations.

“MGB is well-positioned for continued growth. Our purchase orders received from Sany Alameriah for the supply and installation of precast elements for 400 units in the ROSHN Alarous development in Jeddah is on schedule, with the precast concrete elements already being supplied and installed on-site progressively.

“We remain focused on delivering the best products and services for our customers,” he added.
