Celebrity actor Farid Kamil Zahari, currently embroiled in divorce proceedings, recently opened up to the media, describing the situation as stemming from a “misunderstanding.”

In a TikTok video, he spoke candidly about his marriage troubles, remarking that such issues are “normal” and shouldn’t lead to divorce. He emphasized that he still deeply loves his wife, Diana Danielle Danny Beeson, and their two children, Muhammad, 11, and Nur Aurora, nine.

Diana reportedly stated that she had grown tired of Farid’s "empty promises" and decided to pursue divorce again after a brief reconciliation following their initial split in Aug 2023.

Farid revealed that he had contacted Diana just a day before the media interview, attributing the dispute to a “slight misunderstanding” that arose during the waxing moon—a time he described as bringing unusual shifts in their relationship.

“It’s not just us; it’s a phase that everyone faces, especially married couples. Those who aren’t married won’t understand,” he commented.

Reflecting on love, Farid likened it to a natural disaster, noting that anyone in his position would face similar challenges.

“When it comes to love, it’s just like natural disasters, and I take it positively,” he said.

Drawing a comparison to the film series Lagenda Budak Setan, in which he once starred, Farid suggested that marriages often have “sequel after sequel.”

When asked if he was prepared for the divorce proceedings, he shared that he feels more ready this time.

He expressed a belief in Qada (divine decree) and Qadar (the measure of God’s will), stating that in life, one cannot predict what will come.

Farid also reflected on rujuk (reconciliation) in Islam, explaining that each person interprets it differently based on their situation, though for him, the experience is further intensified by media scrutiny.

“Everyone goes through it, but the difference is, I’m interviewed and scrutinized,” he said.

Commenting on his approach to handling the current situation, he said, “I’ve learned to stay calm. We just texted and called recently, but, as I said, it’s in the past. Next week, who knows if we’ll talk again.” This comes even as Diana publicly claimed they hadn’t been in contact.

The Syariah court has yet to reach a verdict on the divorce proceedings between Diana and Farid.
