Zahnita Wilson’s husband remanded over alleged domestic violence

KUANTAN - The husband of renowned model and actress Zahnita Wilson has been remanded for three days, from Tuesday to Thursday, to assist in investigations after the actress claimed she was a victim of domestic violence.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Tengku Eliana Tuan Kamaruzaman.
The suspect arrived at the Kuantan Court Complex at about 8.30am and the remand proceedings were completed half an hour later.
Previously, the model and actress alleged she had been a victim of domestic violence by her husband, sharing an image of her bruised eye in a recent post uploaded on Instagram.
Zahnita revealed that she had to disclose the matter publicly to address questions from many who wondered why she frequently wore sunglasses.
Following an incident on Monday morning, Zahnita was determined to expose the violence allegedly perpetrated by her husband.
Kuantan District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu earlier confirmed the man’s arrest on Monday.
According to him, the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Additionally, Pahang Police Chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said that the actress’ desire to leave the house and live separately was believed to be the reason she became a victim of domestic violence.
He said that the preliminary investigation found that this decision angered the victim's husband, leading to his actions against her.
“The victim lodged a police report on Nov 2 and her husband was arrested yesterday after appearing at the Kuantan District Police Headquarters (IPD).
“Today, the suspect was brought to court to obtain a remand order,” he said when speaking to the media after the Monthly Police Assembly at the Pahang Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) on Tuesday.
