SHAH ALAM - Yayasan redONE, the philanthropic arm of redONE Mobile, has partnered with Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) to extend a helping hand to Kuala Lumpur’s homeless community through meal distribution.

A dedicated team of 20 volunteers took to the streets, embodying the spirit of compassion and social responsibility as they provided nourishing meals to those in need.

Their efforts focused on key areas such as Pudu, Petaling Street, and Central Market, ensuring that the city’s most vulnerable had access to warm, wholesome food.

Setting up a Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) hub on Jalan Imbi, the volunteers prepared meals before dispatching smaller teams to distribute them along designated routes.

This initiative aligns with redONE Mobile's ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), ensuring a meaningful impact on local communities. Volunteers not only provided essential aid to the homeless but also reinforced the importance of giving back—a small act of kindness that leaves a lasting difference.

“As a company, our CSR activities go beyond business—they’re about supporting each other and standing together as a community. We believe that true success is defined by the positive impact we create. This meal distribution with Kechara Soup Kitchen is just one of many ways we strive to make a difference,” said redONE Mobile chief executive officer Ameen Amaendran.

“This partnership with redONE Mobile perfectly aligns with Kechara Soup Kitchen’s mission to address the immediate needs of the homeless and underserved while working toward long-term solutions. Together, we are making a meaningful impact by ensuring access to basic necessities and fostering hope for a better future,” said Elisa Khong, Managing Director of Kechara Soup Kitchen Society.

KSK Society has been catering to the marginalised communities in Malaysia for over 17 years, including the homeless, urban poor and Orang Asli populations. Lately, they have been distributing food banks and initiating empowerment programmes as a form of support to the urban poor.

By partnering with redONE Mobile, KSK is able to more effectively assist the vulnerable communities, especially those already on the brink of extreme poverty so their hardships are minimised.

Last year, redONE Mobile had actively engaged in various CSR activities, such as supporting the homeless at Pusat Gelandangan Transit Kuala Lumpur and helping orphaned children during Ramadan. They also collaborated with Persatuan Kebajikan Suara Kanak-kanak Malaysia (SUKA) in pioneering the 'Empowered 2 Teach' programme to help indigenous children in Gopeng, Perak and organised 'Ibadah Qurban' programme to provide meat donations to communities on the East Coast of Malaysia during Hari Raya Aidiladha.

RedONE Mobile continues to dedicate its efforts to support those in need, where through collaborations such as that with KSK, vulnerable communities receive the assistance they deserve.
