Anwar teases Syed Saddiq in Dewan Rakyat as Bella Astillah’s name pops up

SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim added a touch of humour to the Dewan Rakyat session when he playfully teased Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman on Tuesday.

“Muar is not wearing a ‘Baju Melayu’ today? No clothing model today? What are you wearing today?” Anwar quipped, drawing laughter from other Members of Parliaments (MP).

Amid the amusement, the name of actress Bella Astillah was also heard being mentioned. Sensing the amusement in the room, Anwar quickly clarified, “I am just joking.”

The exchange occurred just before Syed Saddiq posed a question during the Prime Minister’s Question Time (PMQT).

The Muar MP inquired about the government’s proactive measures to address flooding during the monsoon season and other unexpected factors in flood-prone areas.

Previously, Syed Saddiq’s interaction with Bella had previously captured public attention when the two hosted a TikTok live session while cooking.

The session, which lasted over an hour, attracted nearly one million views and received more than 13 million likes.
