SHAH ALAM – Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has expressed his readiness to offer any support following the announcement of a committee aimed at discussing allocations for Opposition MPs.

Syed Saddiq stated that his main focus is to ensure that the welfare and rights of his constituents are upheld by the government.

“If a committee needs to be formed, I am ready to collaborate and offer any assistance.

“Earlier, we learned that the government set certain conditions, such as asset declarations, which I agreed to.

“There are many other proposals and I have no objections as long as they are in line with democratic principles, do not contradict the Constitution, and ensure the welfare of my constituents,” he said when speaking after Wacana Sinar edition 474, titled "Is The Urban Renewal Act (PSB) Marginalising the People?" on Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof announced that a committee would be set up to review the Opposition’s perspectives and explore solutions regarding allocations for Opposition MPs.

Fadillah, who also chairs the Government Consultation Council, said that it is essential for the committee to examine proposals from the Opposition and address the issue through consensus and a thorough approach.

He also revealed that Syed Saddiq is the only MP who has approached him so far to discuss the matter.
