KUALA LUMPUR – Police are searching for a man suspected of assaulting and threatening a female security guard in Bandar Puteri Puchong.

A four-minute, 29-second video, widely circulated on Facebook, captured the incident where the woman was attacked at a security guard post.

Serdang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner A. A. Anbalagan confirmed that a 32-year-old local woman filed a report at 1.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim reported that the incident occurred around 12.30am on Tuesday at an apartment complex security guard post while she was on duty.

"The suspect, known to the victim, arrived and professed his love for her.

"When the victim rejected him, citing her pending divorce, the suspect became enraged. He attempted to slash her neck with a folding knife, but she managed to block the attack," Anbalagan said in a statement today.

Later, at approximately 3.30am, the suspect returned and escalated the assault, punching the victim's head and choking her.

A colleague intervened, stopping the attack.
