PN’s rejection of MoU raises questions over asset declaration – AMK
Its Communications Director said that while PN might disagree with the MoU’s terms, a more constructive approach—such as proposing amendments or engaging in discussions—would have been more appropriate.

SHAH ALAM – Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s rejection of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the unity government has sparked concerns over his willingness to declare assets.
Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Communications Director Haziq Azfar said that while PN might disagree with the MoU’s terms, a more constructive approach—such as proposing amendments or engaging in discussions—would have been more appropriate.
“Muhyiddin’s refusal to sign this MoU can be seen as a form of rejection of the principle of transparency.
“This matter is also shallow and baseless, not to mention it raises concerns about his integrity and courage to be accountable, particularly in matters of asset declaration,” Haziq said in a statement on Monday.
Previously, Sinar reported that Muhyiddin rejected the MoU, citing stringent and unfair conditions imposed by the government. He claimed the agreement would require PN to concede too much in exchange for government allocations.
However, Haziq argued that the MoU was not merely a political arrangement but a step toward ensuring national stability and unity. He urged Muhyiddin to clarify PN’s position.
“Muhyiddin must explain why PN is reluctant to sign the MoU. Is it because he refuses to declare his assets? Is PN unwilling to refrain from making statements that incite racial and religious provocation?
“These questions demand answers in the interest of the nation and Malaysian,” he said.
