MELAKA - A man, believed to be intoxicated, exited his vehicle and struck a motorcyclist's helmet at the Kota Syah Bandar intersection early Saturday morning.

The incident, which occurred around 2am was captured in a viral social media video.

The footage shows a passenger from a Toyota Vellfire multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) exiting the vehicle and striking the back of the 24-year-old motorcyclist's helmet.

Melaka Tengah District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit detailed the event, stating that the motorcyclist dismounted and pushed the man, leading to a disturbance.

"Nearby road users intervened to assist the 24-year-old motorcyclist and a shoving incident ensued.

"The 25-year-old suspect then returned to his vehicle and left the scene," Christopher said in a statement on Monday.
