Tunku Azizah shares heartfelt moment with former teacher at World #QuranHour 2025

KUALA LUMPUR - A touching moment unfolded at the World #QuranHour 2025 event today when Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, warmly greeted her former teacher, 79-year-old Raja Norshiah Raja Mohd Nor, fondly describing her as the "strictest teacher ever."
As Her Majesty was preparing to leave the event, she greeted Raja Norshiah recalling their time together at Sekolah Menengah Tun Fatimah, Johor.
The moment she spotted her former teacher, Tunku Azizah approached Raja Norshiah with a warm greeting.
She fondly exclaimed, "strictest teacher ever!"—a heartfelt tribute to the firm yet impactful teaching style of Raja Norshiah.
Raja Norshiah taught home science to Tunku Azizah when she was in Form 3.

Earlier, Her Majesty graced the World #QuranHour 2025 programme, which was held at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Gombak.
Also present at the event were Bandar Tun Razak MP and the wife of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar and other dignitaries.
This year, World #QuranHour 2025 carried the theme 'Saving the Ummah' to emphasise the importance of unity in upholding the religion of Allah SWT.
The 10th edition of the programme brought together thousands of participants through physical attendance at the main venue, live television broadcasts and online access.
Additionally, a total of 1,370 locations across the country, along with 25 locations in 19 other countries, registered for this year's event.
