'Loud bang, then smoke': Fire shocks Puchong residents

PUCHONG – A fire erupted in Taman Puchong Perdana here this morning, preceded by loud explosions.

The fire's cause is currently unknown.

A local resident, who requested anonymity, described the explosions.

“I was home when I heard a loud bang, then another.

"It was shocking. Then I saw smoke rising in the distance,” the resident said.

Meanwhile, a resident, Alisha Nur Mohd Noor said she could feel the heat from the fire while at her aunt’s house in Kampung Tengah, Puchong.

According to her, the flames shot up to a height equivalent to more than 15 storeys and were clearly visible from a distance.

“At first, my family and I thought it was the sound of fireworks because the explosion was so loud.

“Shortly after, the electricity in the area went out.

“I suspect the fire was caused by a gas pipeline,” she said
