Young sons' initiative leads to touching raya gift for mother
According to the woman, she had never asked for such a gift, but it came from the sincerity of her children’s hearts.

SHAH ALAM – A woman from Tumpat, Kelantan, never expected that her two sons would use their duit raya to buy her a gold ring as a gift.
The mother, Siti Khadijah Ahmad, 35, said that her sons, Muhammad Danish Irfan Tajuddin, 11, and Muhammad Danish Idlan, 7, expressed their desire to buy her a ring.
According to the woman, who is fondly known as Ijah Ahmad, she had never asked for such a gift, but it came from the sincerity of her children’s hearts.
“For a long time, my children have liked seeing me wear jewellery and they often ask about the price and the ornaments I have.
“This year, they said, ‘Mama, we want to buy gold for Mama.’
As a mother, I was deeply touched by their gesture,” she told Sinar on Saturday.
Earlier, a 46-second video shared by Khadijah on her TikTok account @ijahahmad90 garnered over 455,000 views and 16,800 likes.
Further elaborating, the bakery business owner shared that her two sons chose the ring, worth about RM950, themselves from a gold shop in the same district.
“When I wore the gold ring, my children were so happy and excited to see me wearing their gift,” she said.
She added that she had previously bought gold bars as savings for their future and always strived to make them happy by buying toys and other necessities.
Now, she said, her children were returning her love in their own special way.
Commenting on the issue of faraid (Islamic inheritance law) raised by some netizens, Khadijah emphasised that it was not an issue since the ring was bought using her children’s money for their future.
“Moreover, I just wanted to make my children happy and recorded a video when they bought the ring to keep as a memory. I didn’t expect it to go viral on TikTok,” she said.
