IPOH – An 11-second video uploaded by Constable Akmal Wafi Annuar, 28, a member of the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), has reverberated deeply with netizens, capturing a poignant moment inside the truck.
The video showed Constable Akmal's comrades chatting amiably and smiling at the camera.
The team was reportedly on their way to a duty assignment in Teluk Intan.
In a subsequent post, Constable Akmal also shared footage of the vicinity around the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan before the tragic incident unfolded.
The reactions of social media users amplified the video's emotional impact.
Home Cook Mila expressed the collective shock felt by netizens over yet another tragedy involving security forces, occurring soon after the distressing news of a baby elephant being struck by a lorry in Gerik.
"So sad... it hurts in the chest... Al-Fatihah and condolences to all the victims... the grief over the baby elephant being hit isn’t even over yet.
"And today, Allah takes nine lives at once... the sacrifices of these heroes... the sacrifices of these fathers... will be remembered forever,” she wrote.

Media reports have confirmed the identities of the nine FRU members who died in the road accident at KM15, Jalan Sungai Manik in Teluk Intan. Perak Police Chief, Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin stated that the male officers, aged between 28 and 46, were returning from duty after completing their Chitrapournami festival assignment in Hilir Perak.
The FRU Unit 5 vehicle from Sungai Senam was struck by a lorry carrying gravel due to a steering system failure.
