JAKARTA - Indonesia on Friday strongly condemned the May 21 shooting by Israeli forces that targeted diplomats on an official tour in the West Bank.

The Indonesian Foreign Ministry described the incident as "yet another unacceptable display of complete disregard for international law by Israel - an injustice Palestinians endure daily in their homeland.”

"Such disregard for international law is a product of years of impunity enjoyed by Israel,” the ministry said on its official X account.

Indonesia also urged the international community to step up pressure on Israel to comply with international law, cease all hostilities, and end its illegal occupation in Palestine.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday fired live ammunition at a diplomatic delegation as it stood at the entrance to Jenin camp to observe the humanitarian situation there.

The delegation included ambassadors from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, the European Union, Portugal, China, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Japan, Romania, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Canada, India, Chile, France, the United Kingdom, and several other countries. - BERNAMA
