Crocodile drags man away during fishing trip in Kinabatangan
Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Hairi Utoh said authorities received a call at 6.08am on Monday requesting assistance for a search and rescue (SAR) operation.

KINABATANGAN – A man has been reported missing after being attacked by a crocodile while fishing in Sungai Koyah, within a local plantation on Sunday night.
The 30-year-old victim, identified as Jufri Untung, had gone out with a friend to catch fish but disappeared after being seized by a crocodile during the incident.
Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Hairi Utoh said authorities received a call at 6.08am on Monday requesting assistance for a search and rescue (SAR) operation.
"According to the victim’s friend, they had gone to the river to set up a fishing net.
"During the incident, he was knocked by the crocodile while the victim was dragged away and seized until he disappeared from sight.
"Following the incident, a SAR operation was immediately launched along the riverbank, but the victim has yet to be found," Hairi said.
Hairi confirmed that updates on the operation will be provided regularly as the situation progresses.
