JOHOR BAHRU - A woman suffered a forehead injury after being allegedly assaulted by her husband with a mobile phone for visiting her father without his permission.
The incident occurred at their home around 7pm last Friday.
The woman later shared her experience on social media, where her post went viral and drew various reactions from netizens.
According to the woman, this was not the first time she had been subjected to violence by her husband. Similar incidents had happened previously.
“The disagreement started when my husband became angry and upset because I visited my father.
“He hit me with a mobile phone, causing my forehead to bleed.
“Before this, he had punched me in the face, leaving bruises around my right eye,” she said.
The victim, who lives in Ulu Tiram, sought treatment at a nearby clinic before filing a police report at the Ulu Tiram Police Station on May 24.
Seri Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak confirmed that police have received a report on the case.
He said the investigation is being conducted under Section 322/18A of the Domestic Violence Act.
“Statements have been taken from the complainant, her husband and witnesses. The case has been forwarded to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,” he added.
