Like KRU’s ‘Terhangat di Pasaran’ song, KJ's Umno comeback would certainly be welcomed - Analyst
Khairy’s return would certainly be welcomed, especially at a time when Umno lacked "star-quality" figures capable of reigniting the party’s fighting spirit.

SHAH ALAM – Umno appears open to the prospect of bringing former youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin back into its leadership ranks, recognising his enduring public appeal and influence.
Universiti Utara Malaysia School of International Studies senior lecturer Muhammad Afifi Abdul Razak said Khairy’s return would certainly be welcomed, especially at a time when Umno lacked "star-quality" figures capable of reigniting the party’s fighting spirit.
"Khairy is like the KRU song entitled "Terhangat di Pasaran" (hottest in the market). His return to Umno would undoubtedly draw public support back to the party.
"Moreover, Umno appears to be in desperate need of restoring support from the Malay community, which has been declining since the last general election.
"So naturally, Umno would welcome anyone who can help strengthen the party," he told Sinar.

However, Afifi said doubts remained over whether Khairy still adhered to Umno’s original ideals namely, the struggle for religion, race and country.
He said speculation about Khairy rejoining Umno was not surprising.
"I’ve heard about it for quite some time. From various sources and even some of Khairy’s people are still in Umno.
"But in my view, anyone who wants to return to Umno must demonstrate clear loyalty to the president, party leadership and the Malay community," he added.
Previously, Khairy admitted that he had not yet considered joining any other party to resume his political career ahead of the 16th General Election.
However, the former Rembau MP did not deny receiving numerous invitations from parties other than Umno.
