International support needed to establish Palestinian state, says French Foreign Minister

France’s commitment to rallying international partners behind a diplomatic effort aimed at realising the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for statehood.

RAMALLAH - French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said Tuesday that creating the necessary conditions for the establishment of a Palestinian state is essential, reaffirming France’s support for a United Nations-led international peace conference.

Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported Barrot when speaking to reporters, stressed France’s commitment to rallying international partners behind a diplomatic effort aimed at realising the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for statehood.

"France is playing its part in supporting the convening of an international conference under UN auspices,” he said, adding that Paris is working to ensure the summit - scheduled to take place in New York within the next 15 days - delivers concrete and ambitious outcomes. - BERNAMA
