Fire destroys tahfiz students' dormitory, house
The incident, which occurred at Mahad Tahfiz Ar-Rahman in Kampung Warisan around 11.30am, destroyed a permanent structure used as a student dormitory, a semi-permanent house and a vehicle.

KINABATANGAN - All students at a tahfiz school in Kinabatangan escaped unhurt after a fire razed their dormitory and a nearby house on Monday morning.
The incident, which occurred at Mahad Tahfiz Ar-Rahman in Kampung Warisan around 11.30am, destroyed a permanent structure used as a student dormitory, a semi-permanent house and a vehicle.
Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Hairi Utoh confirmed that his department received the emergency call at 11.43am. A team of six personnel was immediately dispatched to the scene, located four kilometres away.

“According to the operations commander, the incident involved a permanent tahfiz dormitory that caught fire, a semi-permanent house that was 100 per cent destroyed and one vehicle.
“At the time of the incident, there were tahfiz students inside, but all of them safely evacuated the dormitory,” he told Sinar.
Firefighting operations were launched swiftly using water from the engine's tank. The fire was brought under control and the operation concluded by 2.45pm.

“Further inspection confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in this incident,” he added.
In a separate incident at midnight the same day, two more houses and six vehicles caught fire in Kampung Bukit Vor, Putatan. 29 personnel from the Putatan, Kota Kinabalu and Penampang fire stations were deployed to the scene to douse the flames.
