Three-year-old girl drowns in canal
The victim is believed to have fallen into the canal while playing alone behind her grandmother’s house, located about 70 metres from the waterway.
JERTIH - A three-year-old girl was found drowned in an irrigation canal in Kampung Kundur, Bukit Kenak near here yesterday.
Besut police chief Supt Azamuddin Ahmad @ Abu said Intan Inara Mohammad Hariz Husaini is believed to have fallen into the canal while playing alone behind her grandmother’s house, located about 70 metres from the waterway.
"At about 6 pm, the victim was said to have gone out through the back door of her grandmother’s house and was playing alone without anyone noticing.
"She was found by her uncle floating in the canal, about 300 metres from her grandmother’s house, at around 6.10 pm before being taken to Besut Hospital, where she was pronounced dead,” he said in a statement today.
He said a post-mortem was conducted today and the case is currently classified as sudden death. - BERNAMA
