After months of detention, Kelantan singer Eda Ezrin released from Thai prison

Prosecutors' appeal bid fails, paving the way for Eda Ezrin's release.

NARATHIWAT – Popular female singer from Kelantan, Eda Ezrin, or Wan Norshaheeda Azlin Wan Ismail, 30, revealed that she has lost weight after spending almost four months at the Narathiwat Provincial Prison.

Not only that, Eda said that she struggles to sleep whenever she thinks about the verdict day on March 6.

"Every night, I pray and perform additional prayers, asking Allah for help to ease the process," she told the members of the media when met at the Narathiwat Provincial Prison.

The mother of two children also said that she has now learned to understand Thai after attending classes.

"I can understand when other inmates speak, but I am still not proficient in speaking it.

"Here, I spend a lot of time reading the Quran, learning religion, and doing other activities provided," she said She also added that she is allowed to choose her food, in addition to the menu provided by the prison authorities.

Eda shared that she and the other inmates can purchase various food items from vendors on the premises.

"Alhamdulillah, everything is fine here, and I’m doing a lot of good deeds. I see this as a reminder from Allah, perhaps because I was neglectful before," she said.

It was reported that Eda, her husband and four others will receive a verdict on March 6.

The Narathiwat Provincial Court has set this date to deliver the verdict for Eda, her husband Mohd Affendi Ahmad, 35, and their four friends, namely Mohamad Alif Deraman, 33; Nur Aida Mamat, 33; Zuhaira Nasrin, 26; and Erdieka Mohd Noor, 33.

This decision follows the completion of testimony from all prosecution witnesses and suspects over a three-day period, starting from February 11, 13 and 14.
