SHAH ALAM - A viral video showing a swaying ‘emergency exit’ sign at Complex C, Putrajaya, has sparked claims of supernatural disturbances, allegedly triggered by the recent felling of trees said to be the ‘home’ of spiritual entities.

The short clip, widely circulated on TikTok and Threads, shows the sign hanging from the ceiling moving back and forth, even though the atmosphere in the office appeared calm, with doors shut and no windows visible.

Several staff members can be seen carrying on with their work as though unaffected by the disturbance.

The disturbance was allegedly linked to recent tree cutting near the building.

“It is said that the other day they cut down a tree behind Complex C, which was its (ghost) home,” a social media user who claimed to work in the area said.

Circulating online alongside the video was a notice claiming that the building was undergoing a 'cleansing' and 'protective barrier' ritual carried out by an Islamic healer.

The notice instructed staff to secure valuables and classified documents and to leave all main doors on each floor open, reportedly to provide an 'exit path' for the entity.

A ruqyah (Qur’anic healing) session was also said to have been conducted after evening prayers in the lobby of the building.

Public reactions on social media were divided, with some sharing personal experiences of workplace disturbances believed to be caused by spiritual beings.

One TikTok user claimed: “It (ghost) is angry because its home was disturbed. Before this, contractors cut down a big tree. That is where it started, the cause of this disturbance.”

Another netizen recounted a similar workplace incident: “There was once a similar case at my office. All sorts of healers were brought in. In the end, we found out the entity was attached to a new staff member. Suddenly it disappeared and so did the new staff member.”

However, skeptics dismissed the claims, attributing the swaying sign to airflow from the air conditioning system.

“It is obvious it is swaying because it is under the blower,” one TikTok user wrote.
