National cycling icon Datuk Azizulhasni Awang swapped pedals for punchlines at CIMB’s Kita Bagi Jadi launch at MITEC today, delivering an unlikely sports-meets-hip hop performance alongside rapper Aman RA that brought the house down.

The live act follows their recent collaboration in the newly released music video Bangun, Kita Bagi Jadi, a remake of Aman RA’s anthem Bangun.

At the event, Azizulhasni embraced the hip hop vibe in a bold red-and-white streetwear look with sunglasses, striking a coordinated presence alongside Aman RA’s street style.

The Kita Bagi Jadi project, part of CIMB’s wider campaign, champions resilience and optimism by encouraging Malaysians to try things beyond their usual limits.

For Azizulhasni, stepping into the shoes of a rapper for the music video was, to say the least, a bold step out of his comfort zone.

“Honestly, it was awkward at first,” he said of the video shoot.

“I’ve never danced or performed like that it’s not my thing. But I embraced the challenge. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried my best to be as close as possible to a rapper. Alhamdulillah, the feedback was amazing and very positive," he added.

Despite the nerves, Azizulhasni said the journey has been worth it.

“From the first moment with Aman RA, we just clicked. The chemistry was there on set and on stage. Even though we filmed for two full days, and then performed live, it never felt long, it was fun.”

Would he do it again? His answer was quick: “I never say no to new challenges. Just give me time to practice!”

CIMB Group Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Toni Darusman, said the collaboration embodied the spirit of Kita Bagi Jadi.

“Music and sports have long been uniting elements. Now, Bangun, Kita Bagi Jadi brings together two personalities from different worlds. We hope the song reminds Malaysians of our own spirit to make things happen," he said.

The music video also highlights everyday Malaysians from entrepreneurs to artists and students, who have overcome challenges with resilience and the support of CIMB programmes.

CIMB Artober

The collaboration also serves as a curtain-raiser for CIMB Artober, happening from Sept 26 to 28 at MITEC, featuring more than 20 galleries and over 100 artists.

Recognised as part of the ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting 2025, Artober continues to grow Malaysia’s presence as a regional creative hub.
