Form 3 student in critical condition after suspected bullying incident at school hostel
His family believed foul play may have occurred, contrary to the official version of events.

SHAH ALAM – A Form 3 student is in critical condition following a suspected bullying incident at a school hostel in Sabak Bernam.
The family of the student, Ahmad Irfan Ahmad Hanafi, believed foul play may have occurred, contrary to the official version of events.
His mother, Siti Muhaini Mohammad Mansor, 43, said her son was reported to have fallen from the third floor of his dormitory.
However, a CT scan revealed internal bleeding on both sides of his brain, a broken jaw and lung trauma, findings which the family argued were inconsistent with an accidental fall.
“If he really fell from the third floor, there would have been more broken bones. But the scan only showed a broken jaw. That’s why we suspect bullying was involved,” she told Sinar.
She confirmed that a police report was lodged at 5am at the Sabak Bernam police station. Authorities have since detained five students for questioning, although no formal statements have been given to date.
Siti also criticised the school’s delay in contacting the family about the incident.
“The family was only informed about the incident at 4am, even though the incident reportedly happened around 2am. The warden claimed Irfan fell from the third floor after eating instant noodles. But according to the medical report, there was no trace of food in his stomach,” she said.
She added that her son had never expressed any issues at school and was actively involved in extracurricular and religious activities within the hostel.
“He never showed any signs of trouble with his friends. Irfan is an active student and he held a position in the hostel’s religious bureau,” she said.
Irfan is currently in an induced coma and remains under close medical supervision at the hospital.
