PUTRAJAYA – Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party has not received any appeal letter from former Rembau Member of Parliament Khairy Jamaluddin regarding his expulsion two years ago.

When asked about claims that Khairy had submitted an appeal through his officer, Zahid responded, “No, I have not received it yet.”

Khairy, who was removed from Umno in January 2023 together with Tan Sri Noh Omar, recently signalled openness to returning to the party.

On July 6, he said he was ready to consider the offer made by Umno Youth Chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh, who had pledged to assist him in making his way back into Umno.
