SHAH ALAM – Members and leaders of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) have a duty to defend the party’s reputation and that of its President - Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, says its Youth Chief.
Muhammad Hilman Idham said the commotion that erupted during Muhyiddin’s policy speech not only damaged the party’s image but also “broke the heart” of the Pagoh Member of Parliament, who is affectionately known as 'Abah' during his tenure as Prime Minister back in 2020.
“We have a responsibility. Last night, we disappointed Abah. We hurt Abah’s heart. So as the children, we have a duty to defend the party’s good name.
“I want to call on all of us… the Bersatu family, to protect our family’s reputation and resolve this conflict,” he said when winding up his policy speech at the Bersatu Annual General Assembly 2025 at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Shah Alam today.

Sinar Daily previously reported that chaos and scuffles broke out on Saturday night while Muhyiddin was delivering his presidential policy address.
The uproar erupted in the middle of the hall, believed to involve disgruntled delegates, after Muhyiddin touched on a movement to gather statutory declarations (SDs) to topple him.
Hilman further stressed that party members and leaders must unite if they are serious about victory in the 16th General Election (GE16).
He said Bersatu was now on the right track to return to government, and for that reason, every internal issue must be resolved quickly.
