BN demands answers from MIC Youth leader spotted sitting with Muhyiddin at Bersatu AGM

BAGAN DATUK – Barisan Nasional (BN) will be sending an official letter to MIC demanding an explanation after one of its youth leaders was spotted attending Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (Bersatu) Armada Annual General Assembly (AGM) in Shah Alam on Saturday.
BN Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said MIC must provide a written clarification as Bersatu was not part of the BN coalition but an opposition party.
He said the act was inappropriate given that BN was a component of the ruling government.
“We leave it to MIC’s leadership to decide on any disciplinary action in line with their party’s rules, but they will also be asked by the BN Secretary-General to provide a written explanation on why a representative was sent.
“This is not a good look, and no BN component party representative should be attending events organised by parties outside of the Madani Government, whether in a personal or official capacity,” he said.
Zahid said this after officiating the Desa Motivation Programme (Mode) organised by Kemas and Bakti Madani UiTM at the Tuminah Hamidi Mosque Hall here on Sunday.
Also present was BN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
On Saturday, media reported that MIC Deputy Youth Chief K Kesavan attended Bersatu Armada’s eighth AGM at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) here.
Kesavan was even seen seated in the front row alongside PN Chairman and Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, while Bersatu Armada Chief Muhammad Hilman Idham delivered his policy speech.
The Bersatu delegates also cheered when MIC was mentioned in Hilman’s welcoming address.
