Think before you pop: Teenager's pimple ordeal goes viral as a painful warning
The ordeal began when Aina noticed a small pimple forming near her lip.

SHAH ALAM – For many, the urge to pop a pimple is irresistible. But for 20-year-old Aina Batrisyia, a simple act led to a painful and shocking medical emergency.
The Bukit Mertajam teenager's story serves as a warning about the dangers of self-treating skin blemishes.

The ordeal began when Aina noticed a small pimple forming near her lip.
When she decided to squeeze it, she never expected the severe consequences that followed.
“After squeezing it, my cheek started to swell. I waited at first because I thought it was normal and that the swelling would subside.
“However, by the third day, the swelling had grown larger to the point that I could not bear the pain and had to go to the clinic," she said.
To her surprise, the doctor informed her that the seemingly harmless pimple had developed into a large cyst with pus in two distinct layers.
“The pus had two layers; the top was soft while the bottom was hard. At first, the doctor removed the soft pus before scraping out the bottom part using a needle,” she said.
Since the incident, Aina has had to visit the clinic daily to have her wound cleaned and packed with antibiotic cotton to prevent infection.
Her mother and friends were reportedly shocked by her experience.
Aina shared her story on TikTok, where the video went viral and drew comments from other users who had similar experiences.
Her intention, she explained, was not to seek online attention but to raise public awareness.
“My intention was only to raise awareness so that others would be more careful.
“Do not squeeze pimples or small wounds because we cannot see germs. It is even more dangerous if it happens on the face because there are many blood vessels," she added.
Ultimately, Aina’s message is clear: a moment of satisfaction is not worth the risk of a serious infection.
