Andrew Cabot breaks silence on Kristin’s Coldplay scandal and their divorce
He confirmed through a spokeswoman that the couple had already gone their separate ways before the now-infamous Coldplay concert clip.
Kristin Cabot’s estranged husband has spoken publicly for the first time since their split made headlines.
Days after Kristin, a former HR executive at tech firm Astronomer, filed for divorce, Andrew Cabot confirmed through a spokeswoman that the couple had already gone their separate ways before the now-infamous Coldplay concert clip.
"We were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert,” the spokeswoman said according to media reports.
She added that the divorce was already underway and that Andrew, who runs rum company Privateer, now wants privacy and closure.
Kristin filed for divorce on Aug 13, and the next hearing in the case is set for late Nov.
The drama started on July 15 during Coldplay’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
While scanning the crowd for a singalong segment, frontman Chris Martin pointed out a couple who looked close on camera, Kristin Cabot and her then-boss, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron.
As the crowd watched, Kristin covered her face in shock and Andy ducked out of frame.
"Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy," Martin joked. The clip went viral within hours and online users quickly revealed who they were.
Both Byron and Cabot were married to other people at the time. Within days, Byron resigned as CEO after the company said he failed to meet conduct standards, while Kristin also quit her role.
Their profiles and press releases were later wiped from Astronomer’s website.
