Bersatu identifies individual behind SD plot, says Armada chief
The actions of several individuals involved were unethical and went against the resolutions made during Bersatu’s annual general assembly.

SHAH ALAM – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has identified the individual allegedly behind a movement involving statutory declarations (SDs) said to be aimed at ousting party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Bersatu Armada chief Muhammad Hilman Idham said the actions of several individuals involved were unethical and went against the resolutions made during Bersatu’s annual general assembly, where delegates had unanimously backed Muhyiddin’s leadership.
“The SD issue should no longer be raised because they have already failed. Don’t repeat the foolishness by claiming that 120 division chiefs signed the SD, when in reality, only a few did.
“Even then, they were deceived by fabricated stories,” he told Sinar.
Previously, a news portal quoted a Bersatu supreme council member (MPT) claiming the issue had only been temporarily quieted to ensure that the general assembly could proceed smoothly, in line with Muhyiddin’s request.
The same source also claimed that one of the MPT members was planning to present the SD to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman in a private meeting.
Hilman, however, rejected these allegations, stating that the matter never arose during the general assembly, as delegates had clearly and unanimously supported Muhyiddin as Bersatu’s prime minister candidate to be put forward to the PN Presidential Council.
“This was clearly seen during the assembly when everyone raised their hands to show support for Muhyiddin. I’m confident the two MPT members said to be the source also did the same,” he added.
Commenting on the recent special MPT meeting, Hilman said discussions mainly focused on clarifying the authority of the permanent chairman under the party’s Constitution and Rules, particularly to address the conduct of certain delegates who behaved inappropriately during the assembly.
He also confirmed that disciplinary action will be taken against the two individuals behind the leaks for going against the annual general assembly resolution to retain Muhyiddin as president until the next general election.
“There’s no need to name them, I believe everyone in the MPT, including the president, knows exactly who they are.
“They (the sources) may think no one knows, but the reality is, everyone does. I’m confident the party will take appropriate action against them,” he said.
