Asia’s first Lego Build & Race revving up at Legoland Malaysia

If you grew up with posters of Michael Schumacher tearing up Formula 1 tracks or you’ve secretly dreamt of taking a Ferrari for a spin, buckle up because that adrenaline-fuelled fantasy is about to meet your inner Lego master builder.

Legoland Malaysia Resort has just dropped a massive bombshell: they’re teaming up with Lego Ferrari to bring Asia’s very first Build & Race attraction to Johor, opening in Q4 2025.

The collaboration blends Ferrari’s legendary motorsport heritage with Lego’s limitless creativity, inviting visitors to design, test and race their own Lego Ferrari cars in an experience unlike anything the region has seen.

The big reveal took place at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, where Legoland Malaysia is hosting an exclusive roadshow from Sept 12 to 21.

The pop-up is packed with Ferrari-fuelled fun: a Build & Race zone where you can craft and test your car creations, a photo-ready podium complete with a LEGO trophy and even a meet-and-greet with Ollie the Legoland mascot rocking a racing outfit.

There are trivia games, giveaways (Lego sets worth up to RM2,000) and life-sized Lego Ferrari models so detailed you’ll want to whip out your phone for that perfect gram shot.

Legoland Malaysia Vice President CS Lim said the new Build & Race attraction is more than just another ride, it’s a milestone for the resort and for Malaysia’s tourism scene.

He explained that partnering with Ferrari is a dream collaboration, one that taps into the passion for motorsport while celebrating the boundless creativity LEGO is known for.

"We’re thrilled to announce this exciting partnership with Ferrari and to bring an Asia-first attraction to Johor and Malaysia. This is a game-changing collaboration that blends Ferrari’s legendary motorsport heritage with Lego’s boundless creativity.

"What visitors see at Pavilion Bukit Jalil is just a taste of what’s coming. We’re gearing up to unveil an extraordinary experience that will ignite imaginations and bring families closer together," he said in the launch ceremony.

This announcement rides on the back of Legoland Malaysia’s recent glow-up (from the new Miniland Singapore to the world’s first Lego Flower Garden Miniland), cementing its status as Southeast Asia’s ultimate family holiday hotspot.

Here’s the kicker: the Build & Race attraction won’t just let you assemble your dream Ferrari, you’ll also get to admire a life-sized Lego Ferrari model exclusive to Malaysia.
