Turkish navy escorts Global Sumud Flotilla en route to Gaza

Several viral social media posts and international media reports showed GSF participants recording the Turkish vessels sailing alongside them.

KUALA LUMPUR - The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) en route to Gaza, was reportedly escorted by several Turkish navy ships, strengthening international support for the humanitarian mission.

Several viral social media posts and international media reports showed GSF participants recording the Turkish vessels sailing alongside them.

The move marked Turkiye joining Spain and Italy, both of which had already deployed escorts in recent days.

Earlier, Turkiye also transferred passengers from the Johnny M vessel after it began taking on water.

The Turkish army's Unmanned Aerial Vehicles were reported to have flown over the flotilla for 30 hours to protect it from potential attacks. - AWANI
