PM Anwar confirms 23 Malaysians detained by Israeli forces
The Prime Minister also reminded everyone that the mission of the flotilla was not political, but humanitarian.

SEPANG - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that 23 Malaysians on board the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) have been detained by Israeli forces, while assuring the nation that every effort is being made to bring them home safely.
Anwar shared that since receiving the news of the detention, he has been in direct contact with international leaders to rally support for the release of the Malaysian volunteers.
“Since I received information about the detention of 23 of our Malaysians on board the GSF along with friends from around the world, I immediately contacted the Qatar Prime Minister, the Turkiye President and this evening, I will reach out to the Egypt President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
“The Foreign Minister (Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan) will contact several others, including the US Secretary (Marco Rubio), to request intervention to ensure the release of all those detained by the Israeli regime,” he said during a special press conference.

The Prime Minister also reminded everyone that the mission of the flotilla was not political, but humanitarian.
The Malaysian volunteers, he stressed, were risking their safety purely out of compassion for the people of Gaza, who continue to endure unimaginable hardship.
“Their concern was based on humanitarian principles, wanting to help the people of Gaza who are weak, starving and sick, especially women and children. If this cannot be done, it means that the value of humanity means nothing at all.
“Once again, I pray to Allah SWT that the cruelty of the Israeli regime will be stopped and that our friends will be freed. Humanitarian aid to the children in Gaza, Palestine must be delivered as soon as possible,” he said.
The Sumud Nusantara Control Centre (SNCC) had earlier confirmed that the flotilla was intercepted in international waters by Israeli forces as it made its way to Gaza carrying humanitarian aid.
For now, Malaysians stand united in hope and prayer, awaiting the safe return of their fellow countrymen who had set sail with nothing more than food, medicine and compassion for the suffering in Gaza.
