While many still believe breast cancer is primarily an illness affecting older women, the reality today paints a more complex picture. 

Increasingly, younger women of reproductive age, expectant mothers and individuals born with inherited risks such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations are finding themselves confronted with life-altering diagnoses at stages of life once thought to be safe.

This edition of the podcast talks to Senior Consultant Breast Surgeon at Universiti Malaya Specialists Centre Prof Dr Aishah Taib and Jefferson Ng, Clinical Psychologist from the Psychosocial Support Department of the National Cancer Society Malaysia.

Together they unpack not just the medical realities but also the emotional battles, fertility concerns, body image struggles and the family dynamics that come with a diagnosis, especially at a young or vulnerable stage of life.
