Two goalkeepers drop out, two called up ahead of Harimau Malaya's clash against Laos

KUALA LUMPUR - Goalkeepers Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman and Suhaimi Husin have been roped in by Harimau Malaya ahead of their Group F match against Laos in the 2027 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Qualifiers at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane on Thursday (Oct 9).

According to the national football team's Facebook post on Malaysia NT, they have been called up to replace teammates Muhammad Azri Abdul Ghani and Muhammad Haziq Nadzli, who have had to leave camp due to health issues.

On Friday (Oct 3), national head coach Peter Cklamovski announced a 29-man list that included three new faces - Declan Lambert, Jordan Mintah and Muhammad Ramadhan Saifullah - for the centralised training camp in Vientiane starting today.

Cklamovski's men are scheduled to leave for Vientiane today.

The national team will resume their centralised training camp from Oct 10-13 to prepare for the return-leg tie against Laos at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Oct 14.

Malaysia are currently on the right track to feature for the second straight time in the Asian Cup Finals. They top Group F with six points, followed by Vietnam and Laos (both on three points) and Nepal in last place with no points. - BERNAMA
