Loyal cat Cuyen melts hearts after viral TikTok with elderly owner in Kota Bharu
74-year-old Mohamad Amin rescued Cuyen when it was a kitten and has since shared an inseparable bond with the feline.
SHAH ALAM- A cat named Cuyen has captured hearts online after a video showing its unwavering loyalty to its elderly owner went viral on TikTok, where it has already garnered nearly one million views.
Farzana Mohammad, 30, who lives in Kota Bharu, said her 74-year-old father Mohamad Amin rescued Cuyen when it was a kitten and has since shared an inseparable bond with the feline.
“Since my father found Cuyen when it was small, they have been very close. Whenever my father starts the car engine, Cuyen will immediately come and want to follow,” she said.
She added that the cat follows her father wherever he goes.
“No matter where my father goes, Cuyen follows. It doesn’t cause any trouble, it just sits quietly and enjoys the view. My father even prepared a special spot in the car for it,” she said.
Farzana, who runs her own business, said her father regularly takes Cuyen on short drives around their neighbourhood.
The family has nine cats, but she noted that Cuyen is “the closest and most affectionate” to her father.
“Cuyen is a bit different, it’s smart and very affectionate. Whenever my father starts the car engine, it follows right away. Even when my father leaves the house, Cuyen will wait at the door,” she said.
The wholesome video of her father and Cuyen, shared through the TikTok account kerepekpisangsnow, has drawn an outpouring of love from netizens.
“I never expected the video to go viral. I just shared it because I thought it was cute to see my father with Cuyen. Apparently, many people loved it,” she said.
