Malaysian volunteers from GSF mission safely return home

According to flight-tracking app FlightRadar24, the aircraft, which departed at 11.14am local time, touched down in Malaysia at 10.07pm.

SEPANG – The Emirates flight carrying 27 Malaysian volunteers from the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) has safely landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, earlier tonight.

According to flight-tracking app FlightRadar24, the aircraft, which departed at 11.14am local time, touched down in Malaysia at 10.07pm.

It is understood that the volunteers are currently at the waiting area before being escorted to the arrival hall to reunite with their families. A press conference is expected to be held shortly after.

Out of the total, 23 volunteers were detained by Israeli forces after their vessels were intercepted while approaching Gaza’s waters.

Among those detained were Heliza Helmi, Nur Hazwani Afiqah, Nurfarahin Romli (Farah Lee), Zizi Kirana, Danish Nazran Murad and Ardell Aryana.

Also detained were PU Rahmat, Musa Nuwayri, Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Iylia Balqis, Sul Aidil, Zulfadhli Khiruddin, Rusydi Ramli, Razali Awang, Norhelmi Ab Ghani, Mohd Asmawi Mukhtar, Norazman Ishak, Zainal Rashid, Ustaz Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Hareez Adzrami (Haroqs), Muhd Haikal Luqman Zulkefli and Taufiq Mohd Razif.

Meanwhile, four other activists who were onboard the Summertime-Jong observer vessel which did not enter the Red Zone are confirmed safe after their ship docked at Paphos Port in Cyprus.

They are Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzaman, Mazian, Serieffa and Ariff Budiman.
