Family, friends pay tribute to Rizal 'Chia,' mourned as devoted and generous soul

SHAH ALAM – The family of Mohamad Rizal Mohamad Yatim, fondly known as Chia, is mourning his passing, as loved ones and friends flood social media with messages of condolence, remembering him as a devoted husband, son and brother whose kindness touched many.

A post shared on Oct 13 by Instagram user @hudanasar announced the passing of her brother-in-law, Rizal.

“Indeed to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return,” she wrote in a heartfelt message.

She described Chia as her sister’s knight in shining armour, best friend, protector and home.

Beyond being her sister’s companion, she added, he was the coolness of his parents’ eyes and the pillar of strength for his sisters.

“Our family has been blessed to have had him for the past 18 years. Chia was kind, funny, overly generous, and took care of everyone around him.

“Always the responsible one but never the boring one, he leaves behind nieces and nephews who will definitely miss their Daddy Chia,” she added in her Instagram post caption.

Friends of Sumayyah Nasaruddin, known as Sumi, also left heartfelt comments expressing their grief and sympathy following the passing of her husband, Mohamad Rizal.

Many described the couple’s bond as deeply loving and inspiring, while offering prayers for strength and comfort to Sumi and her family during this difficult time.

“Ya Allah! I always saw him in her posts. They seem like the best of friends. This is so sad. My heart breaks for Sumi. How did he pass? Ya rabb may Allah give her strength to endure this very difficult time,” user @balqishmaarif wrote.

Another user, @malaquemahdaly, wrote, “Condolences to the family of the deceased. May Allah place him amongst the pious.”

Meanwhile, @nurulism expressed sympathy, writing, “Innalillahi wainnailaihi raajiun. Condolences to you and your family, Huda. May Allah place the late (deceased) among the dwellers of Jannah al-Firdaus and reunite him with everyone he loved in this world.”
