Bersatu expels Wan Saiful, suspends Wan Ahmad Fayhsal for one term

KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has expelled Supreme Leadership Council member Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and suspended Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for one term following disciplinary action by the party’s Disciplinary Board.
According to an official statement by Bersatu’s Disciplinary Board on Tuesday, the decision was made following written complaints from party members against several individuals accused of violating the party’s constitution and code of conduct.
A hearing session was held on Oct 8 and action was taken following a comprehensive investigation carried out in accordance with Clause 9.1.4 and the Members’ Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal’s membership rights were suspended under Clause 22.5 of the party constitution, while Wan Saiful was expelled for breaching party rules.
Four other members - Mohd Azrudin Md Idris, Mohd Faizal Asmar, Mohd Fahdli Ismail and Mohd Isa Mohd Saidi, were also expelled for similar offences.
The Disciplinary Board stated that all decisions were made independently, transparently and fairly without any external interference.
Members who have been subjected to disciplinary action have the right to appeal to the Appeals Board within 14 days.
“The Disciplinary Board calls on all members to continue adhering to the constitution and code of ethics in order to safeguard the integrity and good name of the party,” the statement read. - Awani
