In this gripping recount, activist Iylia Balqis Suhaimi shares the moment her humanitarian flotilla was intercepted by the Israeli army, just 16 nautical miles from Gaza.

She describes how, in a split second, a blinding spotlight from a military speedboat lit up their vessel. 

Iylia and 28 others were then confined in a cramped space for 16 hours, unable to do much but wait.
